Advocate Children’s Hospital upgrades will increase patient safety and clinical efficiency

PARK RIDGE, IL—Advocate Children’s Hospital at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital’s Physical Plant Upgrade is preparing to enter the final phase of its renovation. The multi-level project includes renovations to 19,565 SF of their hospital. On the first floor, upgrades are being made to the finishes in the Pediatric Emergency Department. The Pediatric Inpatient floor renovation and refreshed finishes will help create a cohesive aesthetic with the hospital’s new emergency department addition and bed tower. Lastly, the fifth floor of the hospital is undergoing finishes upgrades to its patient rooms, dayroom, classroom, exam and intake areas, and a separation between inpatient and outpatient areas is being created. In addition to making the aesthetic cohesive with the hospital’s other units, the fifth floor renovations will increase patient safety and clinical efficiency. Matthei & Colin Associates is providing all planning, architecture and interior design services while working closely with DEI, Grumman/Butkus and Leopardo Companies, Inc. on the project.
