In keeping with the long-range planning for Holland Hospital, the 24 private patient bed unit serves the specific needs of the neurology and orthopedic patients. Designed in support of the Joint Replacement Program, the interior finishes are an extension of the hospital standards program and integrate well with the new construction. Durability and ease of maintenance were key considerations in developing the material colorways, but institutional consistency with familiar patterns and forms help define the success of the environment. Warm wood tones, carpeted corridors, and exposed brick walls are a few of the materials that appear elsewhere throughout the hospital campus.
